The historical drama Flourished Peony, starring Yang Zi and Li Xian, has officially reported its average viewership rating on Hunan TV. Surprisingly, the drama only achieved a 0.390% rating, placing it among the top 10 lowest-rated historical dramas in the network's history.

Despite airing during the winter break—a period typically favorable for TV dramas—the show struggled to attract viewers and recorded the lowest ratings of any drama broadcast during this season.
Fans of Yang Zi argue that the poor ratings were due to Hunan TV’s scheduling decisions. Over its 25-day broadcast, the drama faced four days of suspension, several episodes aired past 9:50 PM (outside prime time), and it coincided with Lunar New Year, when special holiday programming dominated viewership.
However, many netizens believe these factors are not the primary reasons for the show's underwhelming performance. They point out that Yang Zi’s recent projects also failed to meet high expectations, suggesting that the actress’s recent works may not be resonating as strongly with audiences.
