On February 8, Tom Cruise shocked fans when he revealed that he fainted due to lack of oxygen while filming a high-risk stunt for his upcoming movie.

"When you stick your face out of a plane at a speed of more than 120 to 130 miles per hour, you don't get enough oxygen. So I had to train myself to breathe in the air. There were times when I fainted and couldn't get back into the cockpit," Cruise shared.

A behind-the-scenes video posted on his personal page showed the actor hanging onto a biplane at 10,000 feet (about 3 km) altitude, secured only by two small cables—a stunt that left even director Christopher McQuarrie feeling anxious.

Speaking to Empire, McQuarrie revealed that 'Mission: Impossible 8' will feature even more extreme action sequences than its predecessors. "We had a small screening before, and the audience said they almost held their breath and had a heart attack watching the scene. If that’s the case, I think we succeeded," he said.

Titled 'Mission: Impossible – The Final Recklessness', the eighth installment in the franchise is set to hit theaters on May 23, 2025. Originally scheduled for 2022, the film faced delays due to the pandemic and the SAG-AFTRA strike.

The movie will continue from 'Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One', where Ethan Hunt (Tom Cruise) survives a deadly train crash. Despite critical acclaim, the previous film underperformed at the box office, earning $571 million worldwide—below expectations.
