Actor Kim Sung Cheol has sparked controversy after engaging with a social media poll related to a female idol. The issue arose when fans pointed out that the account behind the poll had a history of sexual harassment (quote-retweeting disrespectfully) female idols, leading to backlash.
In response, on February 3, his agency, Story J Company, addressed the situation through Star News: “We were unaware that the social media account contained controversial content or was linked to inappropriate videos. Once we became aware of the issue, we immediately retracted our action.”
The agency further stated, “We sincerely apologize for our oversight, which affected the artists mentioned in that content. We have conveyed our apologies to them through their respective management companies. We deeply regret causing concern and will be more cautious in our future social media interactions to prevent similar incidents.”
