The highly anticipated sequel to A Simple Favor (2018), titled Another Simple Favor, will premiere as the opening night film at the SXSW festival in Austin, Texas, on March 7, according to a news release on Tuesday.

Reuniting Blake Lively and Anna Kendrick under the direction of Paul Feig (Bridesmaids), the thriller-comedy follows Stephanie Smothers (Kendrick) and Emily Nelson (Lively) as they travel to Capri, Italy, for Emily’s extravagant wedding to a wealthy Italian businessman. The film promises a lavish affair filled with murder, betrayal, and unexpected twists.

The cast includes Andrew Rannells, Elizabeth Perkins, Henry Golding, and Allison Janney, among others. Following its festival debut, Another Simple Favor will be available for streaming on Prime Video starting May 1.

The film's announcement comes as Lively remains entangled in a legal battle related to her 2024 film It Ends With Us. In December, she accused co-star and director Justin Baldoni of sexual harassment and retaliation, leading to a civil lawsuit. Baldoni has denied the claims and filed counter-lawsuits against Lively, her husband Ryan Reynolds, and The New York Times for defamation and invasion of privacy. A trial is scheduled for the spring of 2026.
