BLACKPINK’s Jisoo and her Newtopia co-star Park Jung Min recently appeared on the YouTube channel Studio Chika Chika to promote their upcoming movie. During the interview, the pair shared a humorous story about their "date" while taking couple photos for the film.
To prepare for filming, the director tasked Jisoo and Park Jung Min with taking photos that would appear in the movie as a couple. Initially, they visited iconic locations around Seoul, such as Gyeongbokgung Palace, accompanied by the director. Later, the director suggested they go on a "date" and take photos on their own. Following this, the two visited Lotte World together to complete the assignment.

However, the outing wasn’t as simple as it seemed. Due to Jisoo’s massive fame, the pair had to disguise themselves to avoid being recognized by fans. Jisoo playfully recalled, "When I saw the photos, I thought, ‘Is there any couple who covers their faces like this when taking pictures?’" Their attempt to remain inconspicuous also meant choosing less crowded spots, making it difficult for viewers to identify Lotte World in the images. Despite the challenges, both actors agreed that the "date" was a fun and unforgettable experience.
Jisoo’s candid and lighthearted story delighted fans, who are eagerly awaiting the chemistry between the two stars in Newtopia, set to premiere on February 7.
Park Jung Min, who is also a BLACKPINK fan, couldn’t stop praising Jisoo during the interview and press events. He revealed, "Despite the challenges of filming in the summer heat, Jisoo was always cheerful and positive. I truly admire that. Seeing her smile behind the scenes taught me a lot."
He also expressed regret about not having more romantic scenes with her, adding, "I hope the movie is successful so we can have a season 2. I’m really looking forward to it!"
The playful banter and mutual admiration between Jisoo and Park Jung Min have only increased anticipation for Newtopia, with fans excited to see their on-screen chemistry unfold.
