Actor Chu Young-woo has spoken out regarding the recent controversy over his social media activity. In an interview on the 4th, following the conclusion of JTBC’s drama Madam Ok, he clarified, “I had no special intentions.”
The rising star, known for Madam Ok and Netflix’s Severe Trauma Center, faced backlash after fans noticed he was following certain BJs (broadcast jockeys) known for provocative content, as well as controversial rappers. Some fans expressed discomfort, prompting the actor to adjust his following list.

Chu Young-woo apologized, stating, “I often browse reels and shorts without much thought. I didn’t mean anything by following or not unfollowing them. I sincerely apologize if it made anyone uncomfortable.”
Acknowledging his growing public presence, he added, “I still have a lot to learn. With the attention and love I receive, I realize my words and actions carry responsibility. I will be more careful moving forward.”
