Each year, the Korean music industry introduces many new groups, and 2025 promises to be another exciting year with rising stars set to make an impact.
RIZZE
This male group made waves with their debut album Get a Guitar, released in September 2023. RIZZE broke records as a rookie by selling 1 million copies, and their subsequent albums, RIIZING and RIZZING Epilogue, continued to hit platinum status. Despite being newcomers, they even went on a global tour. SM Entertainment made a strategic move by transferring Sungchan and Shorato from NCT to RIZZE, which helped the group soar to greater heights. Experts predict nothing can stop RIZZE from achieving extraordinary success in 2025.
BABYMONSTER
2025 looks promising for BABYMONSTER. The members—Ruka, Pharita, Asa, Ahyeon, Rami, Rora, and Chiquita—had already ranked high on the Billboard Hot Trending Songs chart before their debut with the Dream MV. After officially debuting in November 2023, the YG Entertainment girl group has achieved impressive milestones. Music videos like Sheesh, Forever, and Drip garnered millions of views. Fans are optimistic that 2025 will be a groundbreaking year for BABYMONSTER.
MEOVV
MEOVV is the first girl group formed by The Black Label, a company behind big names like Rosé (BLACKPINK), Taeyang (BIGBANG), and Jeon Somi. Fans have high expectations for MEOVV's breakthrough in 2025, especially after signing a collaboration deal with Capitol Records before their debut. Despite releasing singles like Meow, Toxic, and Body in the past year, their success has not met expectations yet. Their first music video Meow, released on September 6, 2025, gained 36 million views.
NCT Wish
As the final unit in the NCT universe, NCT Wish debuted in February 2024 with the single Wish, available in both Korean and Japanese. The group quickly topped the SBS M The Show chart just one month after their debut. American Grammy also listed NCT Wish among the rookie groups to watch. Their first fan meeting in April 2024 sold out, and after several singles, the group released their debut album Wishful in November 2024. SM Entertainment has high hopes for NCT Wish in 2025, given their rapid success.
Naevis of aespa
When aespa debuted in November 2020, the virtual member Naevis first appeared in the music video Black Mamba. Since then, Naevis has featured in numerous aespa videos and made her solo debut last year with the single Done. Plans for an EP and future appearances on Show! Music Core are set for early 2025. Although Naevis has sparked mixed reactions from aespa's fans, there's no denying that AI technology is the present and future of K-pop. SM Entertainment and MBC have high expectations for this virtual idol in 2025.
