Bianca Censori reportedly did not want to wear the revealing outfit that made headlines at the 67th Grammy Awards, but Kanye West insisted on it, according to the New York Post.
A close friend of the couple revealed that Censori had wanted to dress more modestly for the event on February 2. "She would have liked to wear a much nicer dress. She would have definitely had a more enjoyable evening," the source said.
On the red carpet, Censori initially wore a fur coat but later removed it, revealing a sheer mini-dress with no bra or protective gear, leaving her body almost completely exposed. A lip reader suggested that as photographers took pictures, West told his wife, "You're causing a storm."
Despite eventually going through with the outfit choice, the source claimed that Censori was hesitant. "She wanted to change her mind several times, but Kanye wouldn't let her. When Kanye decides something, no one can change his mind. Obviously, this is Kanye's idea, not Bianca's," the friend stated.
The Grammys' official dress code, described as "artistic black-tie," was outlined by executive producer Raj Kapoor. However, a Deadline report on CBS' Dress Code and Practices Advisory suggests that Censori’s outfit may have violated broadcast guidelines, which prohibit exposure of sensitive areas.
Though the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) restricts sexually explicit content on television, no legal action will be taken against Censori. According to TMZ, the Grammys are a private event, and no official complaints have been filed.
West has not made a formal statement, but he briefly posted on Instagram, claiming "my wife is the most searched person," before deleting the post.
