Renowned actor Hu Ge is set to make a grand return to the historical drama genre after 10 years, as reports confirm his involvement in the TV adaptation of Bodyguard. This series is based on the popular comic of the same name and has already garnered significant attention.
While the movie adaptation Bodyguard: Wind Rises in the Desert—featuring action stars Wu Jing, Jet Li, and Nicholas Tse—is slated for release in 2026, the TV version has already entered pre-production.
Set in an ancient martial arts world, Bodyguard promises an intense storyline filled with palace intrigues and desert battles, reminiscent of works like Dragon Gate Inn.
