Actress Lee Hanee has dismissed allegations of tax evasion following reports of a 6 billion won ($4.5 million) additional tax payment after an intensive tax audit last year.

On February 17, her agency, TEAMHOPE, released a statement confirming that Lee fully complied with the tax investigation conducted by the Seoul Regional Tax Office as part of an irregular corporate artist audit. The agency emphasized that the additional tax resulted from differences in interpretation between tax authorities and her tax advisor, stressing that Lee has fulfilled her obligations in accordance with the law and that the case has no connection to intentional tax evasion.

Reports indicate that Lee established a corporation in 2015, which was renamed Hope Project Co., Ltd. in 2022. She served as CEO and internal director until early 2023, after which her husband took over as CEO while she remained an internal director.

Lee Hanee, previously under Saram Entertainment for 10 years, worked independently for seven months before joining TEAMHOPE in January 2025.
