Chinese actor Li Mingde may face a prison sentence of more than 3 years but less than 7 years after being arrested for intentionally destroying private property, according to legal experts.

On February 13, Beijing's Chaoyang police arrested Li Mingde for drunkenly vandalizing another person's car, claiming it was blocking his way. He kicked the door, scratched the logo, and damaged the rearview mirror. The repair costs exceeded 90,000 yuan, surpassing the 50,000-yuan threshold often considered a serious offense under China's Criminal Law.

Legal experts say Li’s actions meet the criteria for intentional destruction of property, which carries a maximum penalty of 7 years in prison. However, factors such as severity and compensation may affect the final sentence.

Li Mingde is now facing severe backlash in the entertainment industry. His Douyin account has been restricted, and Chinese media report that he has little chance of returning to showbiz after this scandal.
