Renowned ballerina Misty Copeland is set to release Bunheads, Act 2: Dance of Courage on September 16. The follow-up to her best-selling picture book Bunheads will once again feature illustrations by Setor Fiadzigbey.
The new book follows Misty and her friends as they experience the ballet Don Quixote, highlighting themes of resilience, compassion, and friendship. Copeland expressed that writing the sequel brought her back to the early days of her ballet journey.
Known as the first Black female principal dancer at American Ballet Theatre, Copeland has also authored Life in Motion and Black Ballerinas: My Journey to Our Legacy.
