An Air Busan plane carrying 169 passengers and 7 crew members caught fire at its tail while preparing for departure from Gimhae Airport in South Korea.

The incident occurred at 10:26 p.m. local time today at Gimhae Airport in Busan, southeastern South Korea. The aircraft was scheduled to depart for Hong Kong when the fire started.

The blaze began at the tail of the plane and gradually spread forward. Airport firefighters "immediately deployed all available resources" to extinguish the flames.

All 176 people onboard, including the 7 crew members, evacuated safely using emergency slides. However, one individual sustained minor injuries during the incident.

This event comes nearly a month after South Korea experienced its deadliest aviation disaster in recent history. A Jeju Air flight carrying 181 people made an emergency landing at Muan Airport, crashed into a concrete wall, and burst into flames, resulting in the deaths of 179 passengers.
