Super Junior’s Eunhyuk has officially withdrawn his retirement pledge after winning first place on KBS2’s Music Bank on February 7. His song UP N DOWN triumphed over IVE’s REBEL HEART, securing the top spot.
Before the broadcast, Eunhyuk shocked fans by declaring, "If I win first place, I will retire." To add to the fun, his longtime bandmate Donghae even held up a sign reading "Retire" on stage during the celebration.

However, on February 8, Eunhyuk took to social media to express his heartfelt gratitude and officially take back his retirement statement. He admitted that the win was unexpected and left him at a loss for words during his acceptance speech.
Eunhyuk thanked his fans, writing, "This award was made by you all. I will continue to be a singer and idol who never becomes complacent and never disappoints you." He also expressed appreciation for his agency and Super Junior members, emphasizing their 20-year bond.
Looking ahead, Eunhyuk sees this win as motivation to prepare for Super Junior’s 20th-anniversary album, promising an exciting year for both him and the group. He ended his message on a lighthearted note: "And can I cancel my retirement?"
Eunhyuk released his first solo album EXPLORER on January 27, marking two decades since his debut. Super Junior members Donghae and Kyuhyun showed their support by celebrating alongside him.
