Renowned Chinese actress Fan Bingbing (43) expressed her grief over the unexpected passing of Taiwanese star Barbie Hsu (48), sharing a heartfelt tribute on social media.

On February 4, Fan Bingbing posted a photo of Barbie Hsu, writing, "Beautiful girl, who always brightened the world with kindness! I will forever remember the innocent smile I saw in your eyes when I first met you. May you be a happy fairy in heaven, where there is no worry, only peace." The two actresses had previously worked together in the 2010 film Future Cop X.

Barbie Hsu, best known for her iconic role as Shan Cai in the hit 2001 Taiwanese drama Meteor Garden, passed away on February 2 due to complications from the flu and pneumonia while on a family trip to Japan. According to Taiwanese media outlets CNA and ET Today, her family has completed the cremation process in Japan, and her husband, South Korean DJ Koo Jun-yeop (55), is expected to return to Taiwan with her remains on February 6.

Barbie Hsu and Koo Jun-yeop’s love story captured public attention. The two first dated in 1998 but parted ways after a year due to long-distance challenges and agency opposition. After Barbie Hsu’s divorce from Chinese businessman Wang Xiaofei in 2021, Koo Jun-yeop reconnected with her after two decades, and the couple married in 2022. Barbie Hsu leaves behind a son and a daughter from her previous marriage.

Her sudden passing has sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry, with fans and fellow celebrities mourning the loss of a beloved star.
