Hollywood actress Scarlett Johansson has condemned the misuse of AI after discovering that her likeness was faked in a viral video alongside other celebrities, including Mark Zuckerberg, Natalie Portman, and David Schwimmer.

On February 12, an Instagram account named Ori Bejerano posted a video criticizing Kanye West's anti-Semitic ideology. The footage featured AI-generated versions of multiple celebrities wearing T-shirts with an offensive hand gesture, a Jewish Star of David, and the name "Kanye". The video, set to the Jewish folk song "Hava Nagila", has gained over 2 million views.

Johansson, who is Jewish, acknowledged the dangers of hate speech, but also warned that AI poses a greater threat. She urged for stronger regulations, criticizing the U.S. government’s slow response in addressing AI-related risks.

Call for AI Regulation

Johansson emphasized the urgent need for AI laws, noting that while California passed AI regulations in 2024, the U.S. lacks federal legislation. She urged lawmakers to prioritize this issue, as it impacts all political sides and the future of humanity.

Not Johansson’s First AI Battle

This is not the first time Johansson has confronted AI misuse. In May 2024, she threatened legal action against OpenAI for allegedly copying her voice for the GPT-4o virtual assistant.

Johansson, known for her Oscar-nominated performances and box-office success, remains one of Hollywood's most influential actresses. Her stance adds weight to the ongoing debate over AI ethics and digital identity protection.
