Born in 2000, Kim Sae-ron made her acting debut in the 2009 film The Traveler and gained widespread recognition for her role in The Man from Nowhere (2010). She continued to build an impressive filmography with appearances in The Neighbor, Dohee-ya, and Snowy Road. Transitioning from a child actress to an adult performer, she took on roles in Leverage: Fraud Operation Team, The Shaman’s Housekeeper, and The Hunting Dogs.
However, in 2022, Kim faced controversy after a drunk driving accident, leading to a two-year hiatus for self-reflection. She had planned to return to the entertainment industry last year with the play Dongchimi, but ultimately withdrew due to health concerns.
Coincidentally, February 16 also marks the birthday of actor Kim Soo-hyun, with whom Kim Sae-ron was previously involved in a "self-love scandal." The controversy arose when she shared a close photo with him following her DUI incident. The timing of her passing on the same day has deepened the sadness felt by many.
