Korean actress Nam Bora, known for her roles in Moon Embracing the Sun and Don't Cry, Mom, recently shared her dream of having four children with her future husband.
The 36-year-old star appeared as a guest on KBS's Salimnam on January 25, where she opened up about her personal and professional life. In addition to her ongoing artistic projects, Nam Bora is preparing for her wedding, which is set for May. She expressed her desire for a loving and stable marriage, saying, "I’ve always dreamed of finding a thoughtful, understanding partner who values excitement and doesn’t face financial struggles. And I want at least three children—four if possible."
In October last year, Nam Bora announced her engagement to a businessman of the same age, whom she met at church. The couple dated for over two years, and Nam Bora credits her fiancé’s kindness for changing her initial hesitation about marriage. "We’ve promised to spend the rest of our lives together. I can’t wait to show everyone the happiness we’ll create as a couple," she said.
Nam Bora’s story resonates deeply with many, as she has faced numerous hardships throughout her life. Coming from a family of 13 children (eight daughters and five sons), she grew up as the eldest sibling, often putting her own needs aside to care for her younger brothers and sisters. Entering the entertainment industry at a young age, she worked tirelessly, accepting every role and commercial opportunity to support her family financially, from paying tuition to providing food and toys.
On KBS’s Radio Star, Nam Bora revealed the emotional toll of her sacrifices, saying she felt she had given up too much of her life for her family. Her parents faced criticism for placing such heavy responsibilities on her shoulders. However, reflecting on her journey, the actress shared that she now feels grateful and proud to have been able to support her siblings.
Born in 1989 in Seoul, Nam Bora began her career in entertainment by appearing in music videos in 2003. She officially debuted as an actress two years later and has since built a successful career over 22 years. Her notable works include Sunny, Shark, Last Wish, Croissant, Sparkling Heart, and Live Your Own Life.
