This marks the second time Squid Game has won at the Critics' Choice Awards, following its double win in 2022 for Best Foreign Language Series and Best Actor (Lee Jung-jae) for Season 1.
The Critics' Choice Awards, one of the most prestigious honors in the U.S. alongside the Golden Globes and Emmys, also recognized other major winners this year. Disney FX’s Shogun, a 17th-century Japanese drama, dominated with four awards, including Best Picture and acting honors for Hiroyuki Sanada, Tadanobu Asano, and Moeka Hoshi. Meanwhile, Anora (directed by Sean Baker) won Best Picture, Adrien Brody took Best Actor for The Brutalist, and Demi Moore won Best Actress for Substance.
With Squid Game 2 continuing its global success, anticipation is high for its upcoming release on Netflix.
