The highly anticipated STUDIO X+U drama ‘Good Competition’ is set to premiere on February 10, and ahead of its release, new still cuts have been revealed, offering a glimpse into the double life of Yoo Je-yi (played by Lee Hye-ri), the top student at Chaehwa Girls' High School.
A Student with a Perfect Image… or Is She?
The first still shows Yoo Je-yi preparing an injection in the medical club room, which is equipped like a real hospital thanks to the support of her father, Yoo Tae-joon (Kim Tae-hoon), director of J Medical Center. Aiming to enter Korea University's medical school, Yoo Je-yi meticulously builds her résumé through top grades and hands-on internships.
In another still, Yoo Je-yi is seen getting blood drawn at her father's hospital as part of her strict self-discipline. Her intense dedication to maintaining peak physical condition for academic success highlights her obsessive pursuit of perfection.
However, a shocking transformation is revealed in the next cut. Ditching her studious image, Yoo Je-yi is spotted in a nightclub, donning bold pink hair and a daring outfit, dancing freely. Her sultry and intense gaze leaves viewers intrigued, questioning what led to this stark contrast in her behavior.
The final still adds even more mystery. Yoo Je-yi invites transfer student Woo Seul-gi (Jung Soo-bin) to her house, where the two share an intimate moment in a bathtub. With Yoo Je-yi gently caressing Woo Seul-gi’s face, the scene radiates undeniable tension, sparking curiosity about the nature of their relationship and the hidden emotions between them.
A High-Stakes Academic Thriller with Dark Secrets
According to the production team, episodes 1-4 will explore the intense academic pressure at Chaehwa Girls' High School, as well as Yoo Je-yi’s growing connection with Woo Seul-gi. They teased, "Viewers will witness the cracks forming in Yoo Je-yi’s seemingly perfect life and the intriguing evolution of her relationship with Seul-gi."
‘Good Competition’ is a mystery-thriller centered around students driven by ambition, secrets, and dangerous desires. As a new transfer student at one of Korea’s most elite schools, Woo Seul-gi becomes entangled in the intense world of college entrance exam competition, while also uncovering the mystery behind her father’s suspicious death, a former CSAT committee member.
