Actress Kim Sae-ron’s last social media activity before her passing was a heartfelt tribute to the late Astro member Moonbin.
On January 26, Kim Sae-ron posted a photo with Moonbin on her Instagram story, captioning it "HBD (Happy Birth Day)♥" to commemorate his birthday. Moonbin tragically passed away on April 19, 2023. In addition, she changed her profile picture to dandelion seeds—an image Moonbin had shared on Astro’s official SNS before his passing. His original post read, “Dandelion seeds, spread far and wide on the wind! Tickle my precious people that spring has come.”
Sadly, this tribute became Kim Sae-ron’s last SNS activity. On February 16, Seoul’s Seongdong Police Department confirmed that she was found dead at her home at the age of 25.
Even during her period of self-reflection following her 2022 drunk driving controversy, Kim Sae-ron quietly remembered Moonbin. On April 24, 2023, shortly after his passing, she also changed her profile picture to the dandelion seeds he had posted.
Kim Sae-ron and Moonbin shared a close bond, having previously worked together at Fantagio and co-starred in the web drama To Be Continued. In an interview, Kim once expressed her deep affection for Moonbin, stating, "Moonbin has been my friend since we were young." The news of her passing has left fans mourning their unfulfilled friendship.
As of now, the exact cause of Kim Sae-ron’s death remains unknown. A police official stated, “No signs of a break-in or criminal activity have been found, but we are continuing to investigate the exact circumstances of her passing.”
