The apology comes amidst a legal battle, with Lively accusing Baldoni of sexual harassment and retaliation. Baldoni has countersued Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, claiming they attempted to damage his career.
Baldoni's lawsuit alleges Lively tried to control the film’s creative direction, including secret script changes with Reynolds’ involvement. He also accuses Lively and her associates of pressuring him into accepting these revisions.
Lively’s representative asserts the released footage from the film supports her claims of inappropriate behavior. Baldoni has also filed a $250 million lawsuit against the New York Times, accusing them of publishing biased articles with doctored evidence. The trial is set for March 2026.
