K-pop group XG has been selected as the new advertising model for McDonald's Japan, marking a major milestone in their global influence. According to their agency XGALX, XG will appear in a new TV commercial for the fast-food giant starting February 10.
The commercial features a special remix of XG's song "IN THE RAIN" from their second mini-album AWE. This exclusive "IN THE RAIN (McDonald's REMIXX)" version was created specifically for the campaign and has been released through the group's official SNS channels.
In the ad, XG takes on a futuristic astronaut concept, appearing in a specially designed space-themed McDonald's store where they party alongside their fans, ALPHAZ. Adding to the excitement, a limited-time pop-up event will be held in Harajuku, Tokyo, where fans can view the group's outfits from the commercial, behind-the-scenes footage, and exclusive memorabilia.
Beyond their growing commercial success, XG is continuing their world tour, "The first HOWL." Following performances in Nagoya, Japan, the group will head to Australia (Sydney and Melbourne), Tokyo, China, Brazil (São Paulo), and Mexico (Mexico City) in the coming months.
Additionally, XG is gearing up for an appearance at Coachella 2024, further cementing their rising status in the global music scene. With their latest album "XDM Unidentified Waves", the group continues to push boundaries and expand their reach beyond Asia and North America into Europe and South America.
